Francois Zimeray

Francois Zimeray is an international lawyer who served as Ambassador of France at the Human Rights Council and has played a part in the UPR process.

He has also been a member of the European Parliament, where he sat on the Legal Affairs Committee and contributed to the European Charter of Fundamental Rights. He was later French Ambassador to Denmark, where in 2015 he survived a brutal terrorist incident at a meeting expressing support for cartoonists and human rights activists in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attacks.

Ambassador Zimeray returned to private legal practice in 2018, where he advises public and private sector clients on complex international disputes.
