Fred and Cindy Warmbier

Fred and Cindy Warmbier are the parents of Otto Warmbier, an American student who tragically died in 2017, shortly after being released from detention in North Korea.

In December 2018 a US District Court ruled that the Warmbiers were entitled to $501m in compensation for the torture and death of their son. Since then, they have worked to publicise the Kim regime’s abuses, while also focussing on illegal activities pursued inside North Korean embassies worldwide. They secured the closure of a hostel within the walls of the DPRK’S Berlin embassy in January 2020.
