Genoveva Tisheva

Genoveva Tisheva is the Vice Chair of the U.N Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women

A trailblazing human rights lawyer and tireless women’s rights advocate, Tisheva currently serves as a member of the UN Committee for the Elimination of all Forms of Violence Against Women and was recently re-elected for another term. 

Among her many other accomplishments, Genoveva was an initiator and author of the Bulgarian Law on the Protection against Domestic Violence, which has been in place since 2005, and pioneered gender research in her home country, Bulgaria.
