Grace Jin Drexel is the daughter of Pastor Ezra Jin, founder of Zion Church in China. Zion Church is one of the largest and most prominent underground churches in China, with nearly 100 branches across 40 cities and more than 10,000 regular worshippers.
In October 2025, the Chinese government detained Pastor Jin and 27 other church leaders as part of the largest crackdown against underground churches in China in the last 40 years.
Since Pastor Jin’s arrest, Grace has emerged as a leading advocate for her father’s release, speaking out in international media, such as the BBC, CNN, and The Washington Post. Her advocacy has drawn significant international attention and pressure, prompting the U.S. State Department to publicly call for Pastor Jin’s release.
Grace previously worked as a research associate at the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, where she focused on freedom of expression and religious freedom.
