Maryam Diyor

Maryam Diyor is the mother of Abolfazl Amir-Ataei who was murdered at the age of 16 by the Islamic regime while participating in the 2022 Woman, Life, Freedom protests.

During the nationwide protests that occurred in the wake of Mahsa Amini’s murder, Amir-Ataei was deliberately shot in the head at close range with a tear gas canister, leaving him with severe brain damage and complete paralysis. After eight long months in a hospital bed, Amir-Ataei succumbed to his injuries.

Now based in Germany, Maryam Diyor seeks justice for Abolfazl and the millions of Iranians suffering under the tyranny of the Islamic regime. Despite attempts by the regime to stop her from sharing her son’s story, Maryam Diyor vows to persist in her pursuit for justice and refuses to be silenced.
