Osiris Puerto Terry is a victim of brutality by the Cuban regime, shot twice at the 11J protests. Â
Puerto Terry was then beaten by Cuban intelligence officers while hospitalized, forcing him to avoid any further state-controlled healthcare for his own safety. One of the bullets remains lodged in Puerto Terry’s back, causing ongoing medical complications.Â
Puerto Terry has used all legal avenues to seek justice inside Cuba, but the regime has told him that the guards were following orders. As retribution for demanding justice, he has been subjected to sporadic periods of house arrest and has been forced to sign a weekly oath that he will not participate in political activism.Â
Because of this, Puerto Terry has come to the Geneva Summit to testify for the first time on the international stage about the human rights violations taking place under the Cuban regime.Â
