Saa is one of the hundreds of girls kidnapped by Boko Haram. She escaped by leaping off the back of a truck once her convoy had stopped for the night.
Saa wears heavy sunglasses and speaks under a pseudonym to make it more difficult for terrorists to identify her and stop her speaking out. Her speech at the Geneva Summit was her first public appearance.
