Taghi Rahmani

Taghi Rahmani is a journalist, author, and political activist who has spent more that a third of his life in Iranian prisons.

He has been arrested and imprisoned for his writings on religious modernization and political activity five times, in 1981, 1986, 2001, 2003, and 2009. In 2011, Rahmani fled Iran and emigrated to France, where he now lives in exile.

Rahmani is married to Narges Mohammadi, another prominent Iranian human rights activist who was imprisoned between 2016 and 2020.
