Dewa Mavhinga

Dewa Mavhinga was the Southern Africa Director of Human Rights Watch [HRW].

Before joining HRW he worked in human rights research and advocacy in Zimbabwe, and as Regional Coordinator for the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition. In 2012, he founded the Zimbabwe Democracy Institute, a public policy think-tank based in Harare.

He passed away in 2021.
