Edward Mortimer

Edward Mortimer was an English author and journalist who was also a Senior Vice President at Salzburg Global Seminar and a Distinguished Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. Mortimer spent much of his career as a journalist, at The Times and later The Financial Times, where he specialized on the Middle East and foreign affairs.

In 1998 he joined the United Nations where he served as a chief speechwriter and from 2001 to 2006 as Director of Communications in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan. From 2010 to 2015 Mortimer chaired the Sri Lanka Campaign for Peace and Justice.

Mr. Mortimer sadly passed away in June 2021.
