Gonzalo Himiob Santome is a Venezuelan lawyer, rights activist, and writer. He is also a founding member of Foro Penal, an organisation that provides legal assistance for victims of arbitrary detention in Venezuela.
Since 2014 Himiob has been regularly singled out and criminalised by a number of Venezuelan state spokespeople. He was awarded the Civil Courage Prize for “strong resistance to evil” and “taking great personal risk” in 2019.
