Hans van Baalen is a veteran Dutch parliamentarian who served as leader of the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy in the European Parliament until 2019.
After serving as Deloitte’s Director of Public Relations, Van Baalen entered the Dutch parliament in 1999 and the European Parliament in 2009.
He served as President of Liberal International from 2009 until 2014.
For his defense of liberal ideas Van Baalen was bestowed with awards from various countries including Germany, Chile, and Ukraine.
He passed away on 29th April, 2021.
