Rosa Orozco

Rosa Orozco is the mother of Geraldine Moreno, a student who was murdered by members of the Venezuelan National Guard while protesting against the government in February 2014.

Since the moment her daughter was killed, Orozco has sought to expose the abuses of the regime both within Venezuela and around the world. She has been searching for justice, not only for her daughter but also for all Venezuelans who have been killed exercising their right to protest peacefully against policies that have thrown the country into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Orozco has also denounced the regime for its systematic violation of human rights.

In 2017 Orozco founded Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón (Justice, Understanding and Forgiveness), a human rights organization that documents the regime’s crimes against humanity and raises awareness by putting cases before national and international law institutions to be prosecuted for all those seeking justice.
